Becoming a CoARC Site Visitor

 

  Qualifications

A.   Respiratory Care Practitioner Team Member:  The respiratory care practitioner team member must have at least 3 years of experience as a program director and/or director of clinical education within the last 10 years at program(s) holding initial or continuing accreditation. Additional requirements include:

            1.  Completion of the Site Visitor Training Process;           

            2.  Has prepared or contributed to the preparation of a self study report; and involved in a site visit or 
                     observed a site visit;
           

            3.  Completion of a follow-up Interview with a Site Visit Committee member or the CoARC Executive Director.
 

B.   Physician Team Member:  The physician team member must meet or exceed the qualifications for Medical Director of the program being evaluated (CoARC Standard 2.14), and must attend a CoARC site-visitor training workshop or, at the discretion of CoARC, attend an on-site review with a CoARC Board member.
 

C.    Polysomnography Team Member:  The Polysomnography team member must hold the RRT credential, and either the RPSGT or SDS credential, and be employed at an accredited Respiratory Care program.  Additional requirements include:

            1.   Attendance at a Site Visitor training workshop within 3 years
            2.   Observation of at least 1 polysomnography site visit.

 

D.   Team Captain:  The team captain of a site visit team must meet or exceed the following:

           1.   Demonstrated experience as an active site visitor
           2.   Working knowledge of the CoARC Standards and Site Visitor Manual
           3.   Attended Site Visitor Training Workshop within the last three years
           4.   Recommended by the Site Visit Committee
